After many years of service, Richard Beale and Louisa Cullen have retired from Beale & Cullen Dental, leaving behind a legacy of patient-focused care. Known for their clinical skill and gentle approach, they fostered a welcoming environment where patients felt comfortable and well-cared for. Their commitment to excellence shaped the practice's ethos, which will continue to influence Beale & Cullen Dental moving forward.
Ben Taylor, BDS
Dentist
Ben Taylor, a principal dentist at Beale & Cullen Dental, brings over 17 years of experience to the practice. Graduating from the University of Manchester in 2006, he was drawn to New Zealand's beauty and decided to make it his home. This extensive experience allows him to provide patients with advanced care across a wide range of dental needs. Ben is passionate about helping anxious patients overcome their dental fears, offering IV sedation for those who need it. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry and creating beautiful smiles with composite veneers. Committed to providing the best possible care, Ben combines his clinical skill with a gentle and reassuring approach, making him a valuable addition to the Beale & Cullen team. When not in the practice, you'll find him climbing, mountain biking, mountaineering, or spending time with his family.
Fionnuala Cowhie, BDS (NUI), MFDS
Dentist
Fionnuala graduated from University College Cork in Ireland with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2010. In 2011 she gained an MFDS from the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians, Glasgow. After graduating, Fionnuala worked in Australia, the Torres Strait Islands and spent several years in the North East of England working in an oral surgery and facial trauma centre. A move to New Zealand in 2017 brought her to Wellington initially and Christchurch has been home since 2021.
Fionnuala’s particular areas of interest are difficult extractions, wisdom tooth removal, advanced IV sedation, facial aesthetics and single visit crowns.
She is passionate about working with patients to help them feel comfortable and empowered about their dental treatment. Advanced sedation is an amazing tool to help patients to overcome any barriers that may prevent them from completing a part of their dental journey, whether it’s a surgical procedure or a complex tooth repair.
Outside of work, music and exploring the outdoors are her passions. So whether it’s running around the Port Hills or playing with the Celtic Orchestra, Christchurch is the perfect spot to keep her busy.
Rohit Bedi, BDS, PGDipHSc(Akl), NZREX
Dentist
Rohit is an experienced practitioner passionate about helping patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles, especially those anxious about dental visits. He specializes in advanced IV sedation techniques to ensure comfort during complex procedures like implant dentistry, surgery and complex rehabilitation. He offers a full range of treatments, from wisdom tooth removal to complex restorative care and smile makeovers. Rohit's expertise in sedation and complex dental procedures often leads to referrals from his colleagues. He takes a patient-centric approach, understanding individual needs and empowering patients to make informed decisions about their oral health. A respected leader in dental sedation, he lectures nationally and internationally, consults for the Dental Council of New Zealand, and contributes to research at the University of Alberta, Canada. Rohit is deeply committed to patient safety in sedation and passionate about continuing education to provide the best possible care.

Dr Keira Malone, BDS MRACDS (PDS) MFD RCSI DipConSed D.Ch.Dent(OS) FFD(OS) RCSI
Specialist Oral Surgeon
Dr Malone is a Specialist Oral Surgeon. She achieved a first-class honours in Oral Surgery at Trinity college Dublin 2017. She has a strong background in the field of Oral Surgery working in the UK, Australia, and Ireland. She also has 7 years’ experience working in general Dental practice. Keira worked with the Royal Flying doctor Service in Australia. Supporting her local community is extremely important to her and locally she has worked with Ora Toa Cannons Creek and the Charity hospital Christchurch.
Dr Malones training includes Oral Surgery, OMFS, Dental Implantology and Conscious Sedation techniques.
Dr Malone is an affiliated provider for Southern Cross, NIB, AIA and ACC.

Hi there! I’m Kamila, I earned my degree in Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Otago and I’m passionate about promoting oral health and hygiene through preventive care and education.

Lesley changed her career at the ripe old age of 50. She needed a new challenge in life and qualified as a DA at 52.
Lesley likes to be organised in her work days and enjoys meeting new people. In her free time Lesley enjoys hanging out with family and friends but most of all her granddaughter Ivy
She loves travelling, walking, knitting, sewing, and trying new things in life
